My First Bullet Journal!
Someone showed me a Buzzfeed article about a Bullet Journal, and I was immediately intrigued. Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved stationary. Notebooks, pens, cards, paper in general…(Nerd alert!)
I recently helped my parents clean out their attic and found 7!!! half-finished journals from my childhood. I think the first (and only) journal I actually ever “finished” was my composition notebook from college. Looking back, that notebook was my first foray into bullet journaling.
At this moment, at my desk, I have 9 notebooks for different purposes.
I have a:
- “Bright-idea” journal
- Work notebook
- Random doodling notebook
- Food journal
- Joy journal
- Travel journal
- Old work notebook
- My NEW BULLET JOURNAL!
A friend introduced me to the whole concept of “bullet-journaling” and of course, after hours of research, I was hooked. What do you mean I get to buy a new journal and pens and washi tape and just write whatever I want in a journal?! Essentially, the bullet journal, as I understand it, is your one-stop-shop for all things: Planner, notes, to-do’s, doodles, etc.If you’re interested in going down the rabbit hole, you can check out the following links, or head over to Instagram and search the hashtag, #bulletjournal.
So a week in, here’s what I’ve started to create. I’m sure I’ll run into the classic pitfalls along the way, but so far, I really really love it. Here are some of my pages so far. I think my favorite is the habit tracker. I can’t wait until the end of the month to see how I did in the areas I wanted to focus on!
Have you heard of bullet journaling? What are your thoughts? Any tips on how to make it productive and helpful? Let me know in the comments!
